Loan Restructuring Platform

Designed and developed a Loan Restructuring orchestration service that consolidates multiple active loans into a single restructured loan, owning the end-to-end customer journey from eligibility to completion. Built the Collection Loan Orchestrate Service as the central workflow orchestrator, maintaining the state and progression of every journey across user eligibility, consent, underwriting, disbursement, upfront fee payment, and final completion, with validated transitions that prevent invalid state changes. Designed an event-driven architecture with Apache Kafka to orchestrate workflows across Analytics, Underwriting, Disbursement, Repayment, App, and Collection systems, reducing dependency on synchronous service-to-service communication. Defined inbound and outbound Kafka event flows with standardized event types, correlation IDs, event versioning, retry handling, and idempotent processing; hardened with Dead Letter Topics (DLT), structured logging, and end-to-end request correlation. Modelled PostgreSQL schemas for restructuring offers, workflow status, and audit tracking, and developed REST APIs consumed by the App via the Repayment Internal BFF for restructuring status and user consent. Owned the backend architecture and technical design — service design, database schema, Kafka architecture, API and event contracts — collaborating with six cross-functional teams to define integration boundaries.
